WINDSURFING

At Tenerife you can enjoy over 300 windy days a year. The water temperature is warm in winter and summer. Surfers from all over the world flock to this area in the south of the Island. The area hosts national and international competitions. The atmosphere is peaceful and you can sense the passion for windsurfing in the air, making it completely unique.

EL MEDANO

There are two things that characterize El Médano; the regular trade winds and mild weather all year round that act as a magnet for windsurfers and surfers. With the coastline stretching for over 3 kilometers and the airport (TFS) just 10 minutes away, El Medano is the windsurfing capital for wavesailors and freeride / slalom sailors. From the center you have access to world class windsurf spots and perfect surf/ stand-up-paddling/ wingfoil spots. The sandy beaches and gentle beach breaks offer great conditions for beginner up to advanced surfers. The spots are gifted with good conditions the whole year round; we have a 12 months season! Summer and winter seasons do not differ a lot in terms of wind and temperature making El Medano the perfect place to go to. Having fun on the water in winter and summertime wearing just your shorty.
